BASF announces price increases for plastic additives and nylon 6

With immediate effect or under existing contracts, BASF is increasing the price of additives for plastic applications (including heat and UV stabilizers, antioxidants, processing aids, lubricants and pigments) by up to 20% worldwide. The company attributed the price adjustment primarily to the considerable fluctuations in price and availability of key raw materials and the rapid escalation of freight rates.

BASF is also increasing prices for its nylons and intermediates in North America. Increase in prices for polyamide polymer and intermediates. The prices for nylon 6 and caprolactam will be increased by 15 ¢ / lb and for copolymer by 18 ¢ / lb.
