Brightmark’s CEO is excited to bring a plastics recycling facility to the home state

It will be the world’s largest plastic recycling and renewal facility.

Brightmark is building the world’s largest plastics recycling and renewal facility on Walden Road in Macon.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC / WMGT) – The world’s largest recycling and renewal facility for plastics will soon be built right here in Macon.

Brightmark is investing more than $ 680 million in a new facility which will be located at 2300 Walden Road, south of Macon-Bibb.

The facility is expected to divert 400,000 tons of plastic waste from landfills every year.

Brightmark CEO Bob Powell is from Georgia. He says he looks forward to bringing this plant to his home state.

“This solution that we have in Macon-Bibb County will be the largest in the world,” said Powell. “But it really is the only true-to-scale solution to one of the biggest problems we have: plastics.”

The facility will create 100 jobs.
