Continental Structural Plastics orders new Dieffenbacher D-LFT line

Continental Structural Plastics (CSP, Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA), a company of the Teijin Group (Tokoyo, Japan) and manufacturer of composite components, is expanding its location in Sarepta, La., USA with the purchase of a Dieffenbacher (Eppingen, Germany) Direkt -Long fiber thermoplastic injection molding machine (D-LFT), which includes a press with a pressing force of 2,500 tons (25,000 kilonewtons). CSP will use the D-LFT line, which is scheduled to go into operation in the first quarter of 2022, to manufacture tailgate covers for pickup trucks.

Before this announcement, CSP had been operating three Dieffenbacher D-LFT lines with identical presses in Sarepta for 20 years.

“Our Dieffenbacher lines from 2001 have been doing excellent work for two decades. So we decided to order another D-LFT line with a 2,500 ton hydraulic press, ”says Dale Armstrong, Advanced Process Engineer at CSP. “We also feel very well supported here in North America by the local Dieffenbacher employees.”
