Evco Plastics Adds Ga. Medical Device Manufacturing Plant

Evco Plastics (DeForest, Wisconsin) announced today that it has recently purchased new white space and liquid silicone rubber molding facility near Calhoun, Ga.

The CAL 2 system offers space for 20 injection molding machines with up to 500 tons, and there will be a separate room for new LSR machines. Further features of CAL 2 are:

  • Two bridge cranes for the safe and efficient setting of molds in presses.
  • Four material silos.
  • A 22,000 square foot white room.
  • A 2,100 ft² LSR production room.
  • A 725 ft² measurement room.

The inclusion of a white space enables additional possibilities for medical shapes, which is a new function for Evco. The system will be fully functional in autumn.

“After evaluating our customers’ needs and developments in the industry, we knew the time was right to broaden our skills,” said Kate Bashir, strategy director at Evco, in a press release. “We needed another facility to bring these offers to life. CAL 2 will help us to meet the high expectations and long-term production goals of our customers. “

In addition to CAL 2, Evco is currently expanding its advanced molding facility in DeForest by 13,000 ft². This allows EVCO to adjust the facility’s footprint to add more machines and increase the amount of raw materials and finished goods that can be stored on site.
