The metal framework was put into operation in a state-of-the-art center for 3D printing specialist Photocentric in Titan Drive in Fengate.
The triple Queen’s Award company is investing £ 1.8 million in the center.
Paul Holt, Managing Director of Photocentric, said: “As our business is scaling rapidly, it has become evident that we need to create a high-tech manufacturing facility that will be the world’s first center for the digital mass production of parts.”

The 5,500 m² competence center will comprise 1,275 m² for three state-of-the-art printing farms for industrial parts, dental aligners and ceramics as well as 1,400 m² for the production of 3D hardware as well as a sales and service office with 25 desks.
Mr. Holt said: “There is no other institution in the world like our competence center.
“In a unique way, the resins are made for printing, then 3D printers are made, then the 3D printed parts are made and some of the plastic is put back into the process, all in one building.”
