The government has set a goal to triple the country’s plastic waste collection capacity in this decade to address a major stumbling block to the development of the recycling industry and work to deliver on its promise to reduce waste.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry unveiled a 10-year forecast model on Wednesday for a 10 percent annual growth in the nation’s plastic waste collection capacity to meet a target of 4.29 million tons by 2030.
