As with most Scots, my experience of actual in-store shopping has been limited to a monotonous row of shelves selling the same goods in all nearby grocery stores. The center aisle in a certain German discounter offers a fun variety, but the selection may be too random to be really useful. It was time I could venture a little further beyond my community line into the American cash-and-carry warehouse for at least some variety until travel there was restricted.
