As with most Scots, my experience of actual in-store shopping has been limited to a monotonous row of shelves selling the same goods in all nearby grocery stores. The center aisle in a certain German discounter offers a fun variety, but the selection may be too random to be really useful. It was time I could venture a little further beyond my community line into the American cash-and-carry warehouse for at least some variety until travel there was restricted. It was time the stores before the locks offered an actual range of goods depending on your taste and preferences. As high street stalwarts like
