Putnam Plastics, a specialist in advanced extrusions and assemblies for minimally invasive medical devices, has completed construction of its newest addition in Dayville, CT.
The 57,000 square foot facility will be used as a clean manufacturing space and will increase manufacturing capacity for both existing and new medical device customers. This addition gives the company additional space to continue to grow and support the growing needs of its partners in the industry.
This expansion was added to the existing headquarters in Northeast Connecticut. Similar to the company headquarters, this room was specially designed for Putnam’s medical device partners and offers additional clean production space to expand their product lines. Several new extrusion lines as well as braiding and winding machines to manufacture reinforced catheter shafts are just a few of the new equipment that will be housed in this room.
In addition to the benefits of adding machines and staff for additional production, by expanding the total footprint of the headquarters, Putnam is able to keep everything under one roof, giving customers overall shorter lead times and faster time to market. By expanding the existing facility, Putnam minimizes logistical problems, which increases overall efficiency.
“We are pleased to be able to complete our new addition. This space will allow us to increase our manufacturing and product development capacities, ”said Jim Dandeneau, CEO of Putnam Plastics.
