Rodon Group specializes in high-volume, custom manufacturing solutions for a range of industries and recently announced that its 720-ton hybrid plastic injection molding machine is now being used to manufacture a new large-scale component for a customer in the food and beverage sector.
At their headquarters in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, the Rodon team primarily uses the Nissei press to make their patented SillDry product, a one-piece rocker panel that protects windows from water ingress and sills from rotting. After more than three years in the design phase, SillDry has a waterproof design made of thermoplastic polyolefin that can be deformed in 30 to 60 seconds, depending on the size. The product was launched in 2019 at the same time as the company took over the press.

“We have a 65-year history of supplying small parts in large numbers. But with this press we can now go beyond windows and serve customers looking for even bigger manufactured parts, ”said Michael Araten, President and CEO of Rodon Group. “We are currently working with a customer to make a large tray that will be used in a manufacturing application for the food and beverage industry.”
Equipped with a high tonnage capacity and a clamping force of up to 720 tons, the powerful injection molding machine expands the production capacities of the Rodon Group in addition to the existing 125 compression molding presses.
As one of the largest family-run injection molding companies in America, The Rodon Group manufactures all of its products in the United States. This enables the company shortened lead times, reduced delivery costs and an ISO 9001: 2015 certified safety standard and offer quality control.
